Mission Statement
School Counselors of Fox Meadow Middle School are committed to providing all students with the pro-social and academic skills necessary to reach their fullest potential and become productive citizens.
Academic Development
Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span. Students will complete school with the academic preparation essential to choose from a wide range of substantial post-secondary options, including college. Students will understand the relationship of academics to the world of work and to life at home and in the community.
Personal / Social Development
Students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes and inter-personal skills to help them understand and respect self and others. Students will make decisions, set goals and take necessary action to achieve goals. Students will understand safety and survival skills.
Career Development
Students will acquire the skills to investigate the world of work in relation to knowledge of self and to make informed career decisions. Students will employ strategies to achieve future career goals with success and satisfaction. Students will understand the relationship between personal qualities.
Fox Meadow Middle School Counseling Center Services
Student Support Groups, Individual Counseling, Mediations, Home Visits, Registration and scheduling, Classroom Guidance, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Bully Proofing, Career Exploration, Collaboration with Special Education, Provide resources for families in many areas within the community, Focus on the personal, social, academic, and career facets of all students.
Through a collaborative effort, secondary counselors in the Harrison School District have developed a website in order to provide additional career guidance and counseling services to students and their families. The counselors have aimed to create a centralized website where visitors can discover the answers to their questions, and/or links to those resources.
